About the Society of Riga Partially Sighted and Blind “See Me”
The Society of Riga Partially Sighted and Blind “See Me” was established on 19 March 2015, bringing together people with visual impairments and their supporters with a common goal – to promote social inclusion, improve quality of life, and raise public awareness about the challenges faced by people with vision disabilities. Since 15 April 2016, the Society has been granted public benefit organization status.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to unite people with visual impairments and their supporters, motivate them to participate in the development of a civic society, and actively represent their rights and interests at the state, municipal, and institutional level. We strive to improve education, employment, and accessibility while encouraging people with disabilities themselves to take part in these processes.
Our vision is to attract more active participants, especially young people with visual impairments and their supporters, making “See Me” the most active, cohesive, and open-minded organization uniting people with visual impairments in Latvia.
