Refugees Welcome Italy (RWI) Onlus

Refugees Welcome Italia Onlus (RWI) is a non-profit association born in 2015 as the Italian chapter of an international network active in 15 countries worldwide. Through the use of a web platform and the fieldwork of professional facilitators, the association matches refugees with people (families, couples, singles) who would like to host them. RWI promotes a model of reception based on cultural and interpersonal exchange and active citizenship, in order to facilitate the social inclusion of refugees into local communities.
At the national level, RWI is run by two Presidents and an Executive Board composed of nine people, and an Administration Office. At the local level, RWI operates thanks to the support of 18 territorial groups that count on more than 200 activists and facilitators through the country. At date, RWI has implemented around 130 cohabitations, 30 per cent of which have been concluded after the achievement of the beneficiaries’ complete autonomy.
In the last three years, RWI has established a significant network of partners and supporters among national and international authorities, NGOs, third sectors organizations, Universities and research centres, associations, private foundations, media partners etc. RWI has been engaged in several projects, both national and international (e.g. AMIF, EPIM).
