Raids( Raising Awareness in Darlington and Teesvalley) is an non-profit, non governmental organization established in Darlington, UK in 2007 as a group of young people who had a keen interest on issues that affecting youth in today's society. Issues such as education, unemployment and sexual health, mainly the global impact of HIV&AIDS. RAIDS has become a registered charity since August 2011.

The vision of RAIDS is to aid promising young individuals in developing personally and increasing their independences so that they may become more active agents in society and thus transform it. This will make them more prepared for forthcoming challenges they might face in the future.

Our mission is to help young people from the region that need particular support to fulfill their potentials as they are challenged by many disadvantages caused by either their personal, social,cultural or economic circumstances.

RAIDS aims and works at:

Raising awareness and greater understanding of global youth issues.

Raising personal self-confidence and increasing self-awareness.

Promoting youth initiative and employment.

Young people working with young people on issues that effect them, giving them the knowledge to make informed choices.

Young people and adults working voluntarily to increase knowledge and exchange experiences about unemployment, education and social health.

Promoting global and European awareness, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue and acceptance.

RAIDS addresses this issues with a series of workshops, trainings,local and global projects with the 3rd world countries. Through which it has directly contributed to improve communication skills together with digital competences of a large number of individuals from the region, country as well as globally. Also RAIDS has offered a platform for youth to express their opinions which has helped them to build up their self confidence and self expression. Moreover, RAIDS promotes volunteering, and in this way we contribute to society not only by spreading the idea of tolerance and positive thinking among youth, but also showing them that not all processes in the society are solely financially driven.
