PSİKOEĞİTİM GENÇLİK DERNEĞİ PsychoEducation Youth Association (PEDYA)

Psikoeğitim Gençlik Derneği PsychoEducation Youth Association (PEDYA) aims to strengthen the psychological resilience and mental health of young people by promoting youth employment, aspirations, and youth projects; to support their personal and social development; to contribute to the improvement of youth policies; to foster cooperation and solidarity among young people; to raise awareness among youth about the responsibilities they will undertake; to encourage entrepreneurial spirit; to help them gain knowledge, skills, and competencies; and to equip them with everything they need to be beneficial to humanity.

The association was established in June 2025 in Malatya with the purpose of carrying out and supporting activities that facilitate the social integration of all disadvantaged young people in need of psychosocial support—especially young people with disabilities and special needs—both in Turkey and abroad.

The Association’s board of directors consists of experts in fields related to its areas of activity, such as youth, health, psychology, and special education.
The Association has a psychology working group and a special education working group.

The Psychology Working Group is led by Psychologist Şükür Şükrü KALI. He graduated from Hacettepe University and currently works at Malatya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. He has previously participated in a short-term volunteering activity in North Macedonia within the ESC50 framework. He has also taken on leader and participant roles in several KA1 and KA2 projects.

The Special Education Working Group is led by Umut Hakkı EMRE. He graduated from Abant Izzet Baysal University, Department of Special Education, and works as a special education teacher at the Ministry of National Education. Throughout his 11 years of experience, he has provided education to more than 100 individuals with single or multiple disabilities at high school, middle school, primary school, and kindergarten levels, and has provided guidance to families about individuals with special needs. He is a certified Eteçom 2 practitioner. He currently works in a special education kindergarten.

Additionally, the association has a professional youth working group composed of a Special Education Teacher, a Medical Doctor, a Psychological Counselor, and a Child Development Specialist. Projects are prepared in line with calls announced by ministries and non-governmental organizations.
