Pro Mente Croatia

PRO MENTE CROATIA is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and non-profit civil society organization devoted to the promotion of positive psychosocial health, prevention of mental disorders of groups at risk, improvement of care, advocacy, social inclusion and protection of human rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities and their families, with media promotion of psychosocial health of all groups in risk and members of the cluster.
PRO MENTE CROATIA brings together NGOs, networks of associations, institutions, local and regional self-government units, social and educational institutions and other legal entities and individuals active in the field of protection of psychosocial health of citizens of the Republic of Croatia, including former users of health and social care services, volunteers, professionals of all profiles. The mission is to promote the positive psychosocial health of all citizens, especially marginalized groups of children, young people, one parent family, unemployed, people with disabilities, veterans, homeless and all minorities.

The values of PRO MENTE CROATIA are based on the dignity of persons, equal opportunities, freedom of choice, anti-discrimination, social inclusion, democracy and participation.

We carry out our activities throughout Croatia.

We currently employ 12 people (paid staff). The structure of the staff consists of the president (project manager), vice president, psychologist, two project managers, project coordinator and six personal assistants who care for the persons with disabilities. It is important to emphasize that we will employ more staff during this and next year due to several new projects we will have (estimate: 10 additional paid staff).

Current users are people with disabilities (not depending on age, gender, damage intensity and other parameters). The listed users will continue to be in our focus and part of our activity in the future, but it is worth mentioning how Pro Mente Croatia will greatly expand its spectrum of users. Pro Mente Croatia plans to activate its activities also with other marginalized groups of people such as young, unemployed, war veterans and women. The inclusion of these groups will be implemented already during this year and next 2019. Inclusion of these groups is planned with co-financing from the Eu Funds and all the measures in the application have already been taken.
