Porta Nuova Europa Association

Main goals of the Association:

- to facilitate access to European information
- to foster European mobility, with particular attention towards youth
- to aware citizens about the opportunities offered by the European Union regarding exchange and intercultural dialogue
- to encourage trans-national cooperation, especially within the following area’s: formal and non-formal education, culture, active citizenship and youth
- to promote fundamental values endorsed by the European Union such as respect of human dignity, equal opportunities, respect of human rights, tolerance a antidiscrimination….

Since January 2010 Porta Nuova Europa is Local Eurodesk Relay and offers information and guidance activities at local level to youngsters and Third Sector Organisations regarding the mobility opportunities (study, work, training, voluntary service, knowledge and experiences) offered by European Programmes.

Since March 2010 the Association has been accredited as Sending and Hosting Organisation (HEI ref. 2010-IT-27) for European Voluntary Service projects (Action 2 - Youth in Action programme).

What we do:

Our services are addressed to youth, youth workers, local public bodies, non profit organizations, schools and vocational centers in order to provide information about, and to generate a better access to the opportunities offered by the European Union.

Our activities:

- Information, orientation and European awareness activities, as Eurodesk Local Relay of Pavia, offering information to local youngsters about European programmes regarding culture, training and education, mobility and voluntary service (monthly newsletter, concrete opportunities mailing list, regular information meetings about different themes)

- Training activities regarding European Programmes

- Project management, development and consultancy mainly concerning the non-profit sector, formal and non formal education, culture, active citizenship and youth

- Partner search and management of intercultural contacts and activities

- Development of new initiatives on local, national and international level.
