Location: Plunge district is situated in the north-west of Lithuania and is part of Telsiai County. It is specifically located in the Samogitia region.
Population: As of 2022, the total number of inhabitants in Plunge district is 33,251.
Administrative Structure: The municipality of Plunge comprises 10 rural sub-districts and the sub-district of Plunge town.
Government Responsibilities: The central government delegates various responsibilities to the local authorities in Plunge district. These responsibilities include primary and secondary education, primary health care and disease prevention, culture and sports, development of the leisure and tourist industry, environment protection, social assistance, garbage collection, fire protection, heating, water supply, and sewerage.

The Administration of Plunge District Municipality actively encourages communication with people from foreign countries, fostering connections between diverse cultural, historical, and social experiences. The aim is to facilitate an understanding of the local environment, ethnic and cultural heritage, and to promote the appreciation of cultural traditions. Additionally, the administration strives to disseminate ideas and knowledge about rural areas and traditional forms of farming and living while encouraging appropriate recreational activities.
Municipality’s role in the Projects is designed to promote positive youth/adult initiatives and activities in the district which could be practicable for local community and will make positive impact on the Plunge district youth council and youth organizations. The primary aim of the joint initiative is to contribute in solving essential problems of Plunge district such as youth, adult learnig capacity-building and attract to be active in making their current problems.
The participation in the project will motivate young or adult people to become more politically active and offer a positive impact on the Youth or Adult learning policy. Due the regional and national organizations and units, the information will be forwarded to other organizations in Lithuania.
People of our town will: encourage to become members of youth clubs and organizations, to use their free time creatively, feel important and useful helping other citizens, travel abroad and meet people from other countries, participate in sessions and activities, change culture, experience and ideas.
