Pegasus ELS

Pegasus English Language School (Pegasus ELS) is a non-formal education organisation based in Tetovo, Republic of Macedonia, founded in 2002. While we are known for high-quality English language education, our wider work focuses on youth empowerment through creative skills, wellbeing-aware learning, and meaningful digital participation.

We design and facilitate youth learning experiences that are practical, engaging and inclusive. Our approach combines project-based learning, peer learning, teamwork and structured reflection, with activities that strengthen communication, confidence, critical thinking and collaboration. A strong part of our practice is delivering interactive workshops (online and face-to-face) that support young people’s creative expression and personal development, while also building real-world competences.

Pegasus ELS has extensive experience in digital literacy and media literacy and promotes responsible use of digital tools. We also support educators and youth workers in using accessible digital methods, including AI-supported tools, in a balanced and ethical way (AI as a support for learning and creativity, not a replacement for human judgement). Our organisation is largely paperless and actively integrates technology in learning design and delivery.

We are also recognised for innovation: Pegasus ELS was a finalist for the ELTons Innovation Awards (2017) and our programme Digital Literacy for EFL Students was selected for the HundrED Global Collection of Educational Innovations (2019). These experiences inform our Erasmus+ work, where we aim to contribute practical, transferable methods rather than “theory-only” outputs.

A distinctive element of our youth work is the use of creative, game-based formats such as educational escape rooms and puzzle-based workshops. These are designed to develop creative thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, while keeping young people motivated and emotionally engaged. We also coordinate youth-led media initiatives (including a student-led online magazine) that strengthen youth voice, civic awareness and storytelling skills.

In Erasmus+ partnerships, Pegasus ELS is particularly interested in projects that connect digital transformation with wellbeing, inclusion, creativity, and civic engagement. We contribute through activity design, facilitation, youth participation methods, digital content creation, dissemination, and simple evaluation tools (including formative assessment and peer feedback models) that make project results easier to apply in real youth work settings.
