One World Center

Dear Future Partners
One World Center is based in Michigan, USA. We run a school/non profit with participants from all over the world. For over 20 years we have trained people to volunteer in Africa and South America, but because of the Corona situation we have had to put a hold on these programs.
We are looking for partners for a “Capacity Building in the Field of Youth” application for the spring deadline 2021. As we are not based in Europe we are asking one of the partners to be the Main Applicant.
The idea is to bring youth from different countries in Europe to volunteer within communities in the United States for 6 Months.
The first 2 months are spent at One World Center, the next 3 months volunteering in poor communities in the US, and the last month the team is back at One World Center for evaluation.
Before the Volunteer period in the USA we imagine a training in one of the EU Partner countries and after the 6 months in the USA having a “Youth exchange” in one of the countries in Europe where best practices are exchanged in how we can support the vulnerable, marginalized communities.
We imagine an Application headline:
How can communities build resilience to encounter Social Marginalization?
How do we minimize social injustice in different parts of the world? Social Marginalization is becoming dominant. Who should you turn to?
The poor and marginalized in both Europe and USA have suffered in these past 8 months. The program is a way to bring Europeans and Americans together to do something about this.
From a Europe – USA call in July:
“The relationship between the European Union and United States is critically important to both sides, whether on economic, political, social, or security issues. Our histories have been closely intertwined, never more so than over the past 70 years”.
Please contact us if you like the idea and we can discuss how we could work together. For this application you should be approved to send EVS Volunteers to partner countries.
