Odissea Società Cooperativa Sociale

Cooperativa Odissea is a non-profit organization that, since more then 10 years, works in Capannori (Tuscany) for social and work inclusion of migrants and refugees and for education of children and young people.

Our main values are: inclusion, cultural diversity, participation, social justice, antiracism and environmental sustainability.

We involve in our projects more then fifty workers: social workers, youth workers, educators, trainers, teachers, psychologists, anthropologists and artists.

We partecipated in several Amif projects (asylum, migration and integration fund) and in 2018 we took part in the Erasmus+ project "Reach Out. Empowering youth workers to reach out young migrants and refugees".

Cooperativa Odissea develops and manages projects with young people, women, migrants and refugees:

_Shelters and flats for asylum sekeers and refugees, providing them services for social and work inclusion
_After school projects for children and young students
_Italian language school for migrants
_Outreach education projects
_Peer-to-peer and non-formal learning projects about: conflict management, active citizenship, human rights, intercultural dialogue and sustainable development

Finally, in December 2018 we founded a social enterprise called Terra di Tutti. The aim of this project is, on one hand, to recycle waste materials and transform them in handicrafts, selling them in the market; on the other hand, to create job oppourtunities for the disadvantaged persons involved in our project.
