"Nicolae Bolcas"Pedagogical Vocational Highschool

"Nicolae Bolcas'' Pedagogical Vocational Highschool is situated in the North-West of Romania, at 100 killometres from the Hungarian border, in Beius, a city with 11ooo inhabitants.
We have 1119 students and 70 teachers. We provide educational services for children aged from 3 to 19 years, which means that our school has a complex structure including 4 levels : kindergarden, primary school, middle school and highschool. As for the highschool, we have three departments :
1. Kindergarden/Primary school teachers - our vocational department, where the students are prepared to become kindergarden/ primary school teachers.
2. Philology - the main subjects are : foreign languages, History, Geography
3. Information Technologies - the main subjects : Maths, Computer Science, Sciences ( Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
We have a rich tradition in projects on various themes : volunteering and social responsibility, traditions, active European citizenship, gastronomy, career guidance, sports, musical and artistic education, life skills development, prevention of drug use, tolerance and nondiscrimination.
We implemented the Comenius project '' Paix dans les coeurs, paix dans les cours'', in partnership with schools from Turkey, Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece and Poland.
As for our region, it has two important mountain resorts greatly attractive for those who are passionates of winter sports, many caves, some of them unique in Europe, and Baile Felix, a resort famous for the thermal waters.
