NGO PAKAC

PAKAC is Preili youth society organisation which is founded in 28th January 2008. It was created by several young people with ambition to develop/expand cultural life in Preili creating different culture events and advancing free time quality. Organization contains 12 active and creative members.
Until September of 2015, we had our own PAKAC “opportunity house” in Liepu street 2A where citizens from Preili and other regions visited different events : stand-up comedy evenings, movie nights, acoustic concerts and other. There performed our local singers and artists and also from abroad, even countries (Canada, Poland, Estonia...)
Starting “PAKAC” 8th season, the organisation was given new place in Karsavas street 4, which we developed by ourselves, doing voluntary work. In 11th of September, our new place was officially opened.
We have been participating in different kind of projects, gotten new equipment and by ourselves, we are improving and keeping PAKAC in good shape. We are not afraid to say that PAKAC members will grow because with the autumn season starting, the organisation is going to continue previous traditions – acoustic Fridays, “50 questions”, “Louder evenings “and also offer new events and activities to interest people in the organisation.
Acoustic Fridays – the most popular and visited events of all our projects. Once (or sometimes twice) a month different/various young artists from Preili and other cities of Latvia comes to us and performs with their own concert repertoire. In these evenings we usually found out not so popular, but very bright and talented new artists.
„50 questions” is an informal conversation on Sunday with known people from Preili, where we ask about 50 questions about different things – work, childhood, the biggest mischief, about music taste and other random questions.
„Louder evenings” is musical evenings, which are much louder than acoustic Fridays, that’s why we call this event like that. In „Louder evenings” we invite „garage bands” – music bands who are not so popular but they are playing really good music.
Stand-up comedy evenings – these events are made for people who loves comedy genre or just want to have a funny evening with many laughs. It’s our newest project but people in Preili enjoys it a lot. In stand-up comedy evenings, one or two comedians tells jokes about everything, sometimes about serious things, and makes everyone laugh about it.
Movie nights – usually in these evenings/nights we offer our visitors to see the latest Latvian movies.
