NGO Kids Outdoors

NGO Kids Outdoors is a strong community of people who are enthusiastic about nature, outdoor learning, autonomous and unstructured free play, sustainability (reuse, upcycling, permaculture). Apart from the fact that we do not live together, we are akin to an urban eco-village in Tartu, promoting sustainable lifestyle and innovation in the education and youth work.
The NGO runs an outdoor kindergarten (2-7 ys) and is piloting an outdoor afterschool activity for the school kids. We are aiming to introduce an outdoor junkyard playground model in Estonian youth work. Junkyard playgrounds provide challenging environments for the kids where they can take initiative, build their own "worlds" out of loose parts of wood and other materials, while spending healthy time outdoors, being physically active, and developing key future skills.
