National Youth Council of Serbia

The National Youth Council of Serbia (Serbian: Krovna organizacija mladih Srbije, KOMS) is the highest representative body of youth in Serbia. KOMS is a federation of associations that currently brings together 97 member organizations (youth and youth organizations) from the whole territory of the Republic of Serbia.

What is the role of KOMS?
- Identifying needs and representing the interests of young people
- Platform for dialogue and cooperation and forum for exchange of information, experiences and attitudes of member organizations
- Promoting, encouraging and supporting youth organization
- Encouraging the cooperation of public institutions with young people and participating in institutional decision-making processes that are important for young people, on the principle of co-management
- Analyzing public policies (laws, strategies, budgets ...) and giving expert opinions on amendments to them
- Cooperation with relevant foreign organizations and representation of young people in Serbia in the field of international cooperation
- Public advocacy and representation of the interests of young people at the local, national and international level
- Contribution to capacity building of member organizations
