National Youth and Children Palace (NYCP) instituted in 1941 is a multidisciplinary educational and training establishment. Through its flexible structure and a variety of directions it helps the schoolchildren and youth to organize out-of-school activities. They cover a wide range of youth interests through extra-school education. NYCP targets schoolchildren and youth up to the age of 18.
Currently there are 501 creative and educational groups in which more than 7000 children and youth are enrolled. Educational process is guaranteed by 275 high-qualified teachers, who have extended experience of working with students. In parallel with the in-classroom study, students are involved in various activities carried out by the Palace (conferences, training sessions, exhibitions, children's films shootings, concerts, and theatrical performances, etc.). Students are participating in many local, regional and international projects. During each academic year more than 600 events and activities are implemented by Palace.
Since 1946, every year, Palace organizes Science-Educational Conference, which has 5 000 participants from all over Georgia. Participants are awarded with diplomas provided by National Youth and Children Palace of Georgia, Academy of Science, Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Ministry of Sport and youth Affairs of Georgia. 7 000 pupils are attended Palace’s children theater and puppet theater performances. Planetarium is hosting 3 000 pupils from Georgian schools. New Year celebrations are attended by 2 500 children. In total, during each academic year, including its own students, National Youth and Children Palace of Georgia is serving more than 45 000 children and youth from whole country.
