Operating as a dynamic youth-led NGO under IFMSA-Egypt, the MUST Medical Students Association (MMSA) is an integral force within a globally recognized network of 1.5 million students. We maintain official relations with the WHO and the United Nations, actively bridging academic medical training with tangible humanitarian impact to advance the Sustainable Development Goals.
Our community interventions are driven by highly specialized standing committees. Through our public health and sexual health arms (SCOPH and SCORA), we tackle pressing global issues ranging from climate change and non-communicable diseases to reproductive health, gender equity, and fighting gender-based violence. We advocate strongly for human rights and health equity (SCORP), combating social stigma and protecting vulnerable populations such as refugees. To ground these interventions in solid evidence, our research and exchange divisions (RSD, SCORE, and SCOPE) manage international mobility, conduct rigorous impact assessments, and build scientific capacity, ensuring that every project is backed by reliable data and global best practices.
To translate these broad objectives into seamless on-the-ground action, we rely on a robust operational backbone. In my daily work, I heavily drive our medical education and project management efforts. Within SCOME, I champion innovative methodologies, focusing on how we educate to cultivate highly skilled practitioners. Simultaneously, through our Projects Support Division (PSD), I oversee the entire strategic lifecycle of our initiatives from initial planning to field implementation.
This operational strength is amplified by our dedicated support divisions. Our publications and new technologies team (PNSD) ensures a powerful online presence and impactful promotional outreach, while our fundraising division (FSD) secures the essential financial resources needed to sustain our community activities.
Recognizing that resilient healthcare requires strong leadership, I actively deploy non-formal education methods through our Capacity Building Support Division (CBSD). This allows me to facilitate the critical transfer of real-world soft skills from trainers to members, perfectly reflecting the international student-driven model of IFMSA.
Ultimately, MMSA combines the rigorous discipline of the medical field with the agile, inclusive spirit of international youth work. We are highly motivated to bring our comprehensive project management expertise, funding strategies, and intercultural competence to impactful collaborations within the Erasmus Plus and European Solidarity Corps frameworks.
