Municipality of Nea Propontida

Municipality's local economy could be described as rural, semi-urban and is mainly related to the following sectors: Tourism, Agriculture, Livestock Production, Commerce/Business and Fishery

Tourism is a key sector for the development or the area: hotels, medium and small companies/enterprises of tourist interest (or tourist orientated), a yacht marine-port. There is a booming in business activity mostly in coastal zone during late spring and summer time. The agriculture sector concerns the cultivation of olive trees, grapes, apricots, wheat (durum wheat), peanuts and vegetables. Livestock Production includes the breeding of goats and sheep, cows and pigs. There are 4 fishing shelters, the biggest of which -and one of the largest in Northern Greece- is located in Nea Moudania.

Our Municipality is open for any cooperation with other Municipalities, institutions and NGOs specially for Europe For Citizens projects.
