Municipality of Bornova

As it is stated in our vision: Municipality of Bornova aims at a creating a physical environment in which the public can enjoy life, have their needs met while providing equal, fast and high quality municipality services at every corner of our city, the municipality of Bornova offers a wide range of services and lays on various activities in this process.

The services that the municipality offers are housing and urban development services, urban services, environment protection, landscape planning, medical services, social services, veterinary services, cultural
and social affairs and well-being services. These services are carried out according to the strategic goals and aspirations of the municipality.

On the other hand; The European Union related matters are formally being executed under the Directory of Cultural and Social Affairs. Directory is a responsible body of the Municipality at carrying out projects for the organization in the areas of social development, tourism, youth and education.

Bornova Municipality is actively in a project with the city of Kalmar; (Sweden) called TUSENET (a networking and capacity development project between Turkey and Sweden). Our main areas in this project are Sustainable Tourism and Triple Helix Cooperation. The main activities of the project include developing new areas for rural and cultural tourism in cooperation with two universities of Bornova. For these, two entrepreneurship development projects for people in rural areas have been submitted and with our partners we have prepared a project called "Time Travel" which is a teaching method developed by Kalmar Museum to draw children and young people as well as adults into history especially local history.

As a Municipality; we are both "Sending‟ and "Host‟ accredited institution on European Voluntary Service (Action 2)

All of these activities mentioned above are being coordinated by the Municipality of Bornova.
