Mobility Extremadura

Mobility Extremadura is a young Association founded in 2019, located in the Spanish region Extremadura and which was born from the common desires to boost rural areas and to build, reinforce and empower healthy, tolerant and harmonious communities by facilitating and accelerating personal and professional growth of learners, youth workers and teaching staff.

Our mission is to empower youth to succeed and to drive positive change in their communities.

The values that lie at the core of our belief system are Diversity, Community, Nature, Freedom, Cooperation and Innovation.

The main focus areas of Mobility Extremadura are sustainability, rural development, (social) entrepreneurship and employability.

We also encourage the free expression of individuals by means of creativity through art, music, culture and drama. Among others, we seek to restore and empower the self esteem of young people, especially of those with fewer opportunities who are at risk of social exclusion, in order to help them discover their innate abilities and cultivate new competencies through personal and professional development. To enable the achievement of young people we also foster youth well being through sports and exercise, mindfulness and promotion of healthy habits.

The main objectives of the Association are as follows:

- to enable personal and professional growth of young people through non formal education and activities designed around the concepts of Training and Education, Nature, Health and Conscious living, Arts, Culture, Society and Drama;
- to encourage entrepreneurship in rural areas while fighting rural-urban migration;
- to promote sustainable farming methods and provide practical learning opportunities for young people in this field;
- to reconnect young people with nature;
- to promote sustainable development of rural areas;
- to promote and protect rural values and traditions;
- to investigate, promote and implement eco-friendly ways to produce energy;
- to promote environmental awareness among young people;
- to increase participation of youth coming from rural areas in policy making processes;
- to connect rural youth with employment and study opportunities in Spain and abroad;
- to enforce the link between the rural and urban space by engaging with entities active in the urban world at both country level and internationally;
- to identify international organizations which share common goals with Mobility Extremadura in order to establish lasting partnerships for mobility purposes;
- to provide a space for open dialogue in order to strengthen democratic values, protect fundamental rights;
- to promote intercultural understanding, active participation and involvement among young people;
- to provide special support in all areas of growth to young women from Extremadura aged 18-30;
- to enhance English communication skills among the rural population;
- to provide an enabling environment that helps learners, youth workers and teaching staff exchange ideas freely;
- to provide enriching and life-changing experiences for learners, young people and teaching staff through international mobility and networking;
- to promote volunteerism;
