Miguel Torga High School Sports Club

The Sports Club of the Miguel Torga High School was created in 2006 and is located in the city of Massamá, 10 km from Lisbon.

Objectives of CDESMT:
1) Promote and develop social activities: development of classes for the elderly, the needy population and disabled population (adapted gymnastics)
2) Promote and develop sport projects:
11 Classes of gymnastics – “Gymnastics for all and for the entire family”
• Baby Gym and motor development from 18 months to 3 years old, a lesson with parents, where in addition to the motor part also develops the family bond and their involvement in the activity
• From the age of 3 years the gynecological initiation up to 6 years of age (BasicGym)
• For children from 6 years of age, with or without previous gymnastic experience, we have 3 training classes
• Classes of gymnastic specialization are 5, among advanced acrobatic gymnastics, feminine gymnastics, special young mixed gymnastics, gymnastics of jumps (trampoline and tumbling) and mixed advanced over 18 years;
• 1 Choreographed Aerobics Class for adults
• 1 Senior Gym Class
• 1 Adapted gym class, gym for people with multi-disabilities

2 classes of rope skipping, where we can watch the techniques and acrobatics combined with the jump rope

5 Dance Classes: 2 contemporary dance classes, from beginner to advanced level and 3 Funky-Jazz dance classes, initiation, training and advanced
3) Promote and develop educational projects: projects aimed at young people between the ages of 3-14

Key activities:

At international level there are also events of reference, and in which Portugal has traditionally a strong participation. These events are organized by the two institutions that supervise the Gymnastics, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the European Gymnastics Union (UEG).
