Menteşe Municipality

Menteşe Municipality is the local public authority of Menteşe, the central district of Muğla Province in south-western Türkiye. The municipality provides a wide range of local public services and develops initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life, sustainability and social well-being of the local community.

Our areas of work include youth and community activities, environmental protection and climate action, sustainable urban development and mobility, culture and arts, sports and healthy lifestyles, social inclusion, equality, accessibility and citizen participation.

Menteşe is home to a significant young population, including university students, and the municipality considers the active participation of young people an important component of local development. We aim to create more opportunities for young people to participate in social, cultural and civic life, develop new competences, engage with their local community and interact with their peers from different European countries.

The municipality is interested in developing and participating in Erasmus+ and other European cooperation projects, particularly in the fields of youth participation, non-formal learning, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, environmental awareness, sustainable mobility, sports and active citizenship.

Through international partnerships, we aim not only to exchange good practices but also to create practical learning opportunities for young people and transfer successful European approaches to the local level. We are open to cooperation with municipalities, NGOs, youth organisations, universities, sports organisations and other public or non-profit institutions across Europe.
