Meliora NGO

Meliora Cultural Youth based NGO was founded in 2009 but we begin our activities earlier as youth workers and volunteers.When our activities get larger we have registered our NGO and give name MELIORA which in latin means make things better, and this is our main goal as we want to change life to better.We are non-profit and non-political organization in order to empower young people, develop their leadership skills, increase civil responsibility, and support international cooperation and mutual understanding. We pay special attention to human rights education.Human rights refer to the basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled. Examples of rights and freedoms which have come to be commonly thought of as human rights include civil and political rights, such as the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression, and equality before the law; and economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to participate in culture, the right to food, the right to work, and the right to education. Children's rights are vey important part of human rights system. Children are future members of our society and if we want to build society which “based on social justice and the rule of law” (as it was stated in the Constitution of Armenia), we must pay attention to children’s rights and children who live in child’s homes, do not be exception.We want that they become a fully fledged members of society and enjoy their full rights, realize their rights and liberties.We are very interested in Human rights and liberties. Our specific areas of interest include Human rights, liberties, natural and legal rights, individual and group rights, civil and political, economic, social and cultural rights.Our goal is to take part in building civil society in Armenia and the improvement of human rights and liberties in Armenia, especially children’s rights.
Our society needs to be informed, educated in human rights sphere.
