Mediterranean Health Managers Associations

The Association was founded in 2003 and has about 100 member today. The aim of the association is to organise activities supporting cultural, scientific growth of its members, to increase the relations of the member with their Universities, to assess the problems in health management in the field, cooperate with other institutions with similar aims and to participate their activities if possible. Planning, organising and evaluating scientific research in health management, to develop health management policies, and to search for solutions for problems in health management and related field.
The association consist of persons actively participating in policy making in health management in health institutions (hospital, drug addiction treatment center , nursing home etc). The Association has experience in EU Projects. The association successfully finished a Leonardo Da Vinci Project which named: Determination Of Professional Qualifications Of Health Care (DEPROHEALTH) with partners from Germany, and UK and Atılım, Gazi University from Turkey in 2012. The association has been running Erasmus + Project which named: Care for Carers from Italy, UK, Netherland, Sweden, Austria and Turkey). The Association also has been accredited in youth field by the National Agency of Turkey as supporter / coordinator role.
The majority of the members of Association of Akdeniz Health Managers work as managers in hospitals, addiction treatment centers and nursing homes. Therefore, they are responsible for the preparation of the education programme of the health management programme. In addition to this, they are capable of solving problems related addiction people. Also they are capable of health policy about health field. The organisation was part of the Determination of Professional qualifications of Healthcare management and revision of the educational programmes Leonardo funded project (2010-1-TR1-LEO4-15878) from 2010 to 2012. The project studied the qualifications of health care managers and developed training programs among project partners. The project also shared experience and information about health care management education between partner countries. The Association also has been accredited in youth field by the National Agency of Turkey as supporter / coordinator role.
Our Association have been finished our second Erasmus Plus project which called "Care for Carers” with 6 countries (Austria,Italy,England,Netherland,Sweden, Turkey) 2016 November. The aim of this project sets well with two core areas of operation within the College. The first is the well established Technology Enhanced Learning Unit that supports the infrastructure and skills development of all College staff in maximising the use of modern technologies to support learning and all wider College activity and therefore the basis for NWRC taking the lead on Intellectual Output 6 from the activities proposed in this application. The second is the School of Health and Social Care which is detailed below and aligns with the College's ability to deliver on the 5 other intellectual outputs within the project activity.
The work of this project will seek to up-skill, promote competence and capacity of both informal and formal home based caregivers. There is a mismatch in the skill demands of effective dementia care and current capacity. This project will seek to better equip them with the knowledge, skills and understanding of caring for a person living with dementia and so promote greater confidence and resilience thus promoting the sustainability of home based care, delivering on the C-VET aim.
