Marea Deliberativa is a Spanish non-profit association based in Madrid. We work on citizens' assemblies and sortition-based deliberation: how a process is designed, who ends up in the room, how it is run, and what comes out of it. Our deepest track record is in recruitment and selection: as the Spanish partner of the SORT-EU network led by the Sortition Foundation, we recruit and select the Spanish participants for the European Commission's European Citizens' Panels (four panels since 2025 plus the Young Citizens' Assembly on Pollinators), with stratified, georeferenced random sampling and door-to-door fieldwork, and we train and coordinate a nationwide network of recruiters. In 2023 we designed and ran a self-selected popular assembly on energy with Amigos de la Tierra. Role we seek in a project: Spanish partner for a sortition-based youth or citizens' panel pilot with a public authority, from process design and random selection to recruitment, delivery with local facilitators and evaluation; or the recruitment and reporting of participants for another partner's process.
