MANI/FEST

MANI/FEST is an informal group of young people based in Bologna, Italy. The name combines the Italian word "mani" (hands) with "manifesto", reflecting our idea of expressing, learning and participating through making.

We use art and creativity as tools for non-formal education, social connection and community engagement. Our activities involve both young people with artistic backgrounds and those without previous experience, using practices such as drawing, sculpture, printmaking and photography.

Our methodology is based on learning by doing, peer learning, collective creation and public sharing of results, creating spaces where participants can develop skills, exchange perspectives and work together through practical and creative processes.

We design activities and projects focused on creativity, environmental sustainability and active citizenship, mainly involving young people aged 18–30 and cooperating with local associations, cultural spaces and Bologna’s artistic community.

MANI/FEST aims to develop local and international collaborations that use creativity as a practical tool for participation, inclusion and intercultural learning, while creating meaningful connections between young people, artistic practices and the wider community.
