Maison des jeunes et de la Culture de Gaillac

Affiliated with the Confederation of Youth and Culture Centres of France, the Occitanie Regional Federation and the Tarn Departmental Federation of MJC, the association's commitment lies at the intersection of three areas of activity:
- proposing activities for its members and the local area in general,
- experimenting and innovating in response to new social and cultural practices, with a particular focus on young people,
- promoting a social movement committed to civic responsibility, individual freedom and respect for diversity.
The MJC de Gaillac aims to promote personal autonomy and fulfilment and to encourage everyone to participate in building a more inclusive society.

Its mission is to run a place for experimentation and social innovation that is close to the community and to offer services that encourage initiative, responsibility and civic engagement.
It is open to all without discrimination, in a friendly atmosphere.
Rooted in the town, it contributes to the creation of social ties by listening to the population and participating in local development.
It believes in the virtues of the exchange of ideas and the need for creativity. It encourages initiative, innovation and experimentation.

The MJC in Gaillac has a ‘Youth Action’ programme that covers several areas:
- A Music Collective that allows young musicians to practise, perform on stage for the first time and help organise concerts;
- Cross-disciplinary cultural youth projects
- A Youth Information Centre for 13-30 year olds, dealing with issues such as employment, training, housing, health and international mobility.
- A Leisure Centre for 7-17 year olds offering workshops, courses, outings, trips and leisure projects.
- Permanent services and interventions in schools (secondary schools, sixth form colleges, universities) and other partners (local mission, employment and training initiative, etc.) in the region in line with the MJC's areas of expertise.
