The Leisure Time Centre Lužánky is a regional school institution offering activities for people of all age and social groups. In the season 2008/2009 Lužánky already celebrated 60 years of its existence, so it is the oldest and also the biggest institution of its aim in the Czech Republic. It provides educational and recreational activities for children, young people and adults - it provides conditions for satisfaction of interests in all sorts of fields – sports, arts, mechanics, science, theatre, etc. At the moment, Lužánky centre has 11 subsidiaries around Brno. The Ropes Course (“Lanové centrum”) PROUD is part of one of them - the Lesná banch that is dedicated to sports.
Ropes course PROUD Brno was built in 2004 as the second ropes course of this brand in the Czech Republic. It is one of the largest ropes course in our country, with its two levels, a 13m tall Big swing and 300 m of newly opened ziplines. We offer programmes for schools, general public and companies. We also organize courses of setting up temporary low and high ropes elements. And during the whole summer there are summer camps for children from 7 to 15 years old being held.
In 2009 we organized the international training course ViaRopes, supported by Youth in Action programme. ViaRopes inspired and motivated us to prepare another, different course, following up to the first one, dealing with new topics and broadening the original ones.
Using building tree houses for the youth education. Working on real group task leads to the similar group proceses in different context.
The course is about the possibilities how to adapt an experiential program to different target groups, different setting and different goals. And about ropes...
