LokalPatriot is today more than just a brand, a venue, or a project; it is a movement that, with its energy, inspires creativity, fosters a fresh and critical lifestyle, organizes quality events tailored to the public's desires and needs, and simultaneously develops new models of cultural habits and relationships. These models define the modern individual as an aesthetically, sociologically, and highly developed cultural being with great sensitivity.

The origins of the LokalPatriot institution date back to 1998 when the Novo Mesto Student Association, due to its increasing projects, established three independent organizations. One of them was LokalPatriot, which continues and expands on the association's work in culture, youth, and education. Through its regular cultural productions and various programs and projects, LokalPatriot brings together young people and other enthusiasts and creators from Novo Mesto. These individuals seek to shape or enhance their personal development through recognized work and creation within LokalPatriot while contributing to the cultural, social, creative, and academic growth of the Dolenjska region and beyond.

Initially, LokalPatriot's mission was centered around the LokalPatriot Club, which served as the "base" for all activities. Beyond club activities, the vision of LokalPatriot expanded into other fields, particularly regional cultural festivals, education, and multimedia content. Over the years, projects have emerged that are now representatives of creative production of national importance and represent qualitative shifts in the cultural development of Novo Mesto. Notable examples include the international Jazzinty festival, the Simulaker Gallery, the Multimedia Center of Dolenjska, the international music festival Museum Gardens, and the Jazzinty Subscription concert series. The encouragement of creativity among young people is reflected in projects like Photography Experience, the Youth Creative Center (MUS), and other co-productions with local and national partners, which also delve into film, literature, visual arts, and generally the interdisciplinary and multimedia forms of contemporary art.

The Ministry of Culture has recognized LokalPatriot with the status of an organization operating in the public interest in the field of culture, and the Republic of Slovenia's Youth Office has awarded it the status of a youth center.
