A secular popular education movement, the Ligue de l’enseignement offers educational, cultural, sporting, and leisure activities. Through 103 departmental federations, it brings together nearly 30,000 local associations operating in 24,000 municipalities, representing 1.6 million members.

Education and Training:
The Ligue de l’enseignement supports educational stakeholders—teachers, families, trainers, activity leaders, elected officials, and local authority staff—to ensure this right benefits everyone throughout their lives.

Culture:
Through a dense cultural distribution network, the Ligue de l’enseignement engages a wide range of audiences, starting with children and young people. It leverages the three pillars of arts and cultural education: exposure to artworks, encounters with artists, and artistic practice.
All art forms are covered (cinema, performing arts, music, etc.). The Ligue de l’enseignement pays particular attention to fostering a love for reading and contributing to the democratization of digital culture.

Educational Vacations and Leisure:
As the leading organizer of summer camps (colonies de vacances) through Vacances pour tous, the Ligue de l’enseignement advocates for making this experience accessible to all outside the family setting. It provides an ideal opportunity to deepen a passion, explore new interests, and learn to live together (« vivre ensemble »).
The Ligue de l’enseignement also promotes youth mobility by supporting their engagement and solidarity projects across Europe and internationally.
