We are a young organization operating in rural area of hilly Slovakia (Zaježová eco village) and abroad.
Organization's activities:
- From 2023 - 2025 we are running the "Open art studio" in the Zaježová village, bringing access to art and culture in remote rural areas and facilitating non-formal learning opportunities for the local people;
Thanks to national grants supports, all our workshops and activities are free of charge;
Cooperating with local artists and educators, we are proposing sets of workshops that are including: ceramic, paining, drawing, nature journaling and printmaking.
In 2024 we started collecting books (about environment, natural diversity, visual arts, printmaking, sketching, field guides) in different languages. Available for our participants and local community.
- 2023 YE “LOW-TECH camp”; Our main focus was to work collaboratively to create 4 sustainable low-tech solutions that are easily replicable and are meeting the needs of rural communities.
- 2024 - “Art along hiking trails” - outdoor art workshops in nature, one-day hikes along trails and paths in Javoríe region; Promotion of an alternative form of spending time outdoor, getting to know eachothers and the diversity of the ecosystem through art activities;
- From 2024 - developing Nature journaling activities- locally based regular workshops and Open days for diverse audiences, where participants can learn about the closest environment using nature journaling techniques.
Our goals:
- to build an open, inclusive and empathetic society by confronting xenophobia, promoting gender equality, practicing non-violent communication, building and using an inclusive language;
- to improve the quality of life of a rural community by bringing new and experimental technologies, ecological and innovative solutions to everyday problems; the adoption of environmentally conscious decisions is at the heart of the organisation;
- to involve people most at risk of social exclusion (due to social, financial, ethnic, cultural or gender exclusion) and people from the NEET group (not employed and not in education or training);
- to empower youth through international exchange, volunteering opportunities and local activities, mentoring and support;
- to facilitate access to education, art and literature in rural areas, providing physical and mental space and tools to create art, engaging with the contemporary art world.
