Lapseki Public Education Center

Hello Everyone!

It is Lapseki Public Education Center located on the coast of the Dardanelles or the Hellespont (a narrow, natural strait and internationally-significant waterway in northwestern Turkey that forms part of the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, and separates Asian Turkey from European Turkey). We are so glad to join Salto family who removes the borders and giving people the opportunity to share experiences of learning. In Turkey, public education centers are state institutions such as schools and the goverment finance those centers in all cities and towns to meet local residants who are in need of education, no matter how old they are, under the theory of lifelong learning. We are a local institution, situated in a town with a population of approximately 25000 people, including the villages. We are aware that learning must meet the needs of local population, however also know that there are a lot to learn beyond borders. We would be glad to take place in a “learning process” constructed by different points of view about teaching adults in different learning needs and places, to share experiences both as learners and as teachers and most amazingly, to meet different cultures.
