La Foudre prend racine

Founded in 2021, La Foudre promotes individual empowerment and social transformation through popular education and culture.

Feminist, queer and intersectional, the organisation creates spaces for learning, expression, collective reflection and artistic practice. Care, active listening, empowerment, the right to make mistakes, activist joy and the development of liberating imaginaries are at the heart of all its activities.

La Foudre develops a wide range of cultural and educational projects. These include the touring performance Rebellion of a School Counsellor (Rébellion d'une CPE), a performative talk created by Emi that combines personal experience, critical analysis and collective empowerment. The organisation also supports people in creating their own performative talks through introductory and advanced training programmes.

La Foudre organises cultural, festive and activist events such as literary gatherings, concerts, performances and panel discussions, with a particular focus on lesbian and queer cultures.

Through workshops, public-space interventions, training courses and educational programmes in schools, the organisation designs tailor-made activities for associations, institutions and community groups.

La Foudre also develops projects focusing on parenting, childhood, care practices, mental health, gender equality, LGBTQIA+ rights and social justice.

Based in Bordeaux, France, its activities reach audiences throughout the country and increasingly across Europe through participation in European youth work programmes and international partnerships.
