Kulturskolan Tranås

The age group we target is primarily 5-20 years old, but there are some younger and also some older students. Our subjects we offer are writing and art workshops, dance, theater, programming, music production and music. The subject of music includes both individual instruction in your chosen instrument and playing in an orchestra or ensemble. All teachers who work at the school are also involved in various projects where several subjects collaborate and do outreach activities in the form of concerts and performances for the public. In addition, the school has several different orchestras, such as Ungdomsblåset and Stora stråkorkestern, where many students of mixed ages are involved. The cultural school also has activities for young people with various disabilities. It is a nice group that practices dance, music and theater and does public performances a couple of times each year.
Our school also focuses on socio-economically disadvantaged areas where we offer various artistic expressions that are free of charge.
Finally, we have two youth groups that work with student influence and participation. One group is five young people between 14 and 18 years old and is a kind of student council and works with issues that primarily concern the Culture School and its operations. The other group is a Culture Crew and drives issues about culture throughout the municipality through entrepreneurship. There are five of them between 18 and 21 years old and want to develop youth culture in Tranås.
