Küçükçekmece Municipality is a local public authority in Istanbul, Türkiye. Through our youth, education, culture, social support and environmental services, we work to improve local quality of life and expand opportunities for young people.
For the 2026 Erasmus+ call, our Strategy Development Department is developing international youth project proposals, with a particular focus on Youth Exchanges under KA152-YOU. We are seeking partners to exchange ideas, develop projects together and build lasting cooperation.
Our areas of interest for cooperation include:
• Environment and climate: environmental awareness, water conservation, biodiversity and sustainable everyday practices.
• Circular economy and repair culture: repair, reuse, waste prevention and the transfer of practical knowledge between generations.
• Food literacy and conscious consumption: affordable food choices, household budgeting and reducing food waste.
• Digital skills and artificial intelligence: digital literacy, responsible use of AI, online safety, media literacy and critical thinking.
• Migration and intercultural dialogue: inclusion of young people with migrant and refugee backgrounds, mutual understanding and social cohesion.
• Inclusion and equal opportunities: accessible learning opportunities, gender equality and support for young people facing economic or social barriers.
• Skills for the future: green and digital competences, entrepreneurship and exploring emerging career opportunities.
• Creativity and cultural learning: arts, cultural heritage and intergenerational exchange as tools for bringing young people together.
Our current Youth Exchange proposals focus on young people aged 18–30. We aim to involve participants in shaping activities and learning through practical workshops, teamwork, peer exchange and community-based experiences.
As a municipality, we can contribute to local outreach, participant preparation, activity coordination and connections with relevant municipal services and community spaces. Our youth and cultural facilities also provide opportunities for local learning and follow-up activities.
We welcome cooperation with youth organisations, NGOs, municipalities, educational organisations and other institutions working directly with young people. We value partnerships based on shared responsibilities, complementary experience and active involvement throughout the project.
Interested organisations are welcome to contact us through SALTO with a brief organisational profile and their areas of interest. We would be pleased to discuss potential cooperation and develop project ideas together.
Young people explore repair traditions, learn with local practitioners and share practical ways to keep everyday objects in use.
