Konak Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Science and Art Center is a state institution that provides education to gifted and talented students under the Ministry of National Education. Our mission as Konak Sehit Omer Halisdemir Science and Art Center; "To develop the abilities of talented students with individualized, enriched, differentiated, project-centered educational applications. There are 1 principal, 3 assistant principals and 32 teachers in our school. Most teachers at the school have a master's degree. 3 teachers phD graduates in our school. We have about 700 students, ages ranging between 8 to 18. School teachers regularly participate in professional development programs. The task of school teachers in the teaching process is not to pass on information, but to teach how to access information and learning methods. The students of the institution are gifted/gifted students who have achieved success in general screening (tablet application) and individual screening (intelligence test) exams. In order to shape the teaching process according to the characteristics of these students, our teachers follow the changes in the education system and update their knowledge of new teaching approaches, models, methods and techniques. Collaborative, interdisciplinary project-based activities are held with active participants of students. Our students are trained in scientific research techniques, problem solving techniques and project preparation steps and successfully represent our school in many scientific and artistic platforms such as science festivals, science fairs, research projects, Olympic competitions, concerts and exhibitions.
