Kalvarija is a small municipality located in the southern part of Lithuania, right next to the Polish border. Our municipality has around 9,500 residents, including approximately 1,700 young people who are an important and active part of our community.
Despite being a small region, we strongly believe that local communities can create meaningful international impact through cooperation, openness, and shared ideas. Our main fields of work include youth policy and youth engagement, interinstitutional cooperation, social support, community wellbeing, non-formal education, and strengthening local initiatives.
We are highly motivated to build strong international partnerships with municipalities, NGOs, youth organizations, and other institutions across Europe. We believe that cooperation between regions helps communities grow stronger, more creative, and more connected. For us, international projects are not only about activities and results — they are also about creating long-term relationships, sharing experiences, learning from each other, and inspiring positive change in our communities.
Our municipality is always open to new ideas, joint initiatives, exchanges, study visits, and Erasmus+ partnerships. We are eager to learn from good practices in other countries while also sharing our own experiences and perspectives as a small border-region municipality.
We would be very happy to connect with organizations that value collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and youth empowerment. Even though we are small, we are enthusiastic, flexible, and genuinely committed to active and meaningful cooperation.
