Jugendpflege Loxstedt

Since 2007, Jugendpflege Loxstedt has been operating the Youth Forum, our most important format for the participation of young people in the municipality of Loxstedt. Every year an organising team of children and young people is formed to prepare the forum. Together they find and prepare topics which are then presented to decision-makers from politics and administration.
Part of our work is the constant search for tools and procedures to promote youth participation on the one hand and to anchor youth participation as an integral part of municipal planning on the other.
Since the beginning of the Youth Forum we have been working together with the schools of the municipality, the Emden-Leer University of Applied Sciences and various other groups in the municipality.
The Youth Forum places itself in the centre of appropriate community development and offers itself as a partner in the search for new paths to those actors in the community who want to promote the participation of children and young people. We are working to present ourselves to the players in the community as a reliable institution of participation.
