WeltWegWeiser is a platform for young people interested in volunteering abroad and also a cooperation network for currently 18 Austrian voluntary service organizations, that aim to provide sustainable and responsible volunteer opportunities in the area of social affairs, development cooperation and human rights. Our services include:
- Information and PR about international volunteering
- consultations for volunteers
- Trainings for volunteers
- Trainings for staff
- Capacity building measures for and evaluation of sending organisations
- financial and professional support to enhace inclusion of people with disabilities in international volunteering
We understand international volunteering as an act of solidarity, with the aim to build strong relations between people in the North and South.
In the area of diversity and inclusion WeltWegWeiser
especially aims to promote the participation of young adults with educational disadvantages or disabilities and to search for new approaches of European non-formal educational work in the field of international mobility.
WeltWegWeiser was founded by Jugend Eine Welt, an Austrian NGO specialized in development cooperation. Following the principle “Education overcomes poverty”, Jugend Eine Welt aims to improve the future prospects of children and young people on the margins of society around the world since 1997.
