The Foundation´s origins go back to 1966. At the moment, the Foundation has 50 years of experience working day after day to help persons with an intellectual disability to better integrate, both socially and in the workforce.
We are a centre subsidised by the Regional Government of Madrid and over 600 people use our centres each day. We have 20,000 m2 of premises, where we provide services to adults with intellectual disabilities. The main aim of the Foundation, which is a non-profit organization, is to foster the job placement of people with disability, especially people with intellectual disability and/or mental disorder. In addition, the organization work with others types of disabilities and intervene with people who are in risk of social exclusion.
After 50 years, the Juan XXIII Roncalli Foundation has achieved diverse resources: Day Centre, Occupational Centre, Employment Training Centre and the Employment Centre for Special Needs.
Nowadays, the Day Centre has 54 users and it is a reference for other regional organizations. We use innovative techniques, improving the social skills and the personal development of our users.
The Occupational Centre has the goal of labour integration. People with disability carry out basic jobs, like manual activities. At the present, the Occupational Centre has 185 users, where we have 8 workshops to train their skills to adapt to a job environment.
The Employment Training Centre started its activity in 2009, in order to provide a professional education (VET), oriented to increase the job placement of people with intellectual disability. In all these years, more than 400 students have studied in our courses.
The Employment Centre for Special Needs “Roncalli” started in 1986 and employ 344 workers, 266 of them have some disability (+77% of employees). The Centre has eight business segments.
