Izviđačka družba

Izviđačka družba (The Scout Association), from Zagreb, is a registered voluntary non- governmental, non-profit and humanitarian organization (founded in year 1990), that aims to assist young people in developing their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
Izviđačka družba is a founder of the Sunrise City Association and co-founder of Croatian Humanitarian Network.
We give a special attention towards inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, leader's training, and enhancement of program and human resources.
We work with "inclusion groups" consisted of children or young people with hearing, sight or mental difficulties or without parental care, together with our members (scouts) that have not such problems
We have regular weekly meetings, workshops, trips, camps and other activities, taking place largely in an outdoor setting in contact with nature.
Also, we organize some social and environmental projects every year.

Izviđačka družba has organizational experiences of other projects and programs, like "Sunrise City project" for psycho social support and prevention of behavioral disturbances of children and youth who have been exposed to traumatizing events, “The Bridge of Peace” and "Summer Peace School" - projects of Education for Peace, "Connection" - project for scout-activities with blind, sight affected and deaf-blind children, “Blue Bird” project aimed at social integration of mentally challenged children and youth (and many other projects), that all showed remarkable results in reintegration and strengthening of psycho social stability of participants.
For implementing the 10-year project "Sunrise City", Izviđačka družba received the Award of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

In the field of education for the Protection of Nature and Cultural Heritage Izviđačka družba has organized projects "Our Istria", "Gorski Kotar - Croatian green heart" and "Forgotten Žumberak" and in the field of education for Ecology, Nature Protection and Environment projects "Geo-scout "," Bees fly around the planet" and "Nature keepers"

Izviđačka družba deals with the education of young leaders – volunteers continuously from the 1991st year. During this period, organized 68 seasonal "Scout leaders - volunteers school" (lasting 5-9 days) with almost 2,000 participants from all over the Croatian, (including three international schools).

In EU Programme "Youth in Action" for year 2012 we had one project in Action 1.1, "Music and folklore in function of social inclusion" (summer camp with EU Partner from Poland) and another one in Action 3.1, "Inclusion through sport & games and intercultural activities" (summer camp with Partners from Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina).
In year 2013, we have the project "Baranja 2013" for 5 partners in the field of Outdoor activities and environmental protection (summer camp in second half of August) with Partners from Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.
Also, in year 2013/14, we organize the project "Scout in Action", bilateral itinerant youth exchange with the partner from Slovenia.

We are interested in partnerships and projects aimed at young people with fewer opportunities and their inclusion.
