Istanbul Youth Team

Istanbul Youth Team is a youth group that works on young development in different fields at the same time. Our team is designed to function as a community group that brings young people together who come from completely different backgrounds and also youth and social educators, leaders, and volunteers of differing ability levels to be directly engaged in the development of public events with a European aspect.
Our goal is to enable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to contribute to each other and continue their development among themselves. Istanbul Youth Team creates an atmosphere for young people to develop their artistic, social, scientific skills and helps to act against bigoted and solid ideas.

The objectives of the Istanbul Youth Team:

- To encourage sharing different ideas and brain storming;
- To make an awareness on environmental and political issues;
- To develop their creative side;
- To promote cultural diversity and tolerance;
- To promote local authority, civil initiatives for a collaboration to make an impact on the town about youth and citizen problems and find a solution in an intercultural environment;
- To involve people with fewer opportunities in international projects;
- To try to build sustainable and smart cities;
- To promote healthy usage of the internet;
- To keep young people up to date with changing and developing technology;
- To help youngsters to express themselves better;
- To support youth involvement;
- To promote voluntary work for the public interest;
- To cooperate and fight against racism, discrimination and corruption;

A main aim is to promote initiatives and events that will inspire young people to create a better life for themselves and their friends, raise awareness, assist public organizations on specific youth issues, establish Erasmus+ partnerships and developing themselves and their environment by adding a new perspective to their lives with different activities.

We are a community that basically supports young people in increasing their knowledge and developing themselves by sharing experiences among each other with international environments. In addition, we aim to develop the rich ideas offered by the international cultural diversity environment and their tolerance to these ideas. We attach importance to the development of European awareness and sense of belonging to our members and participants and make them aware of this.

We are organizers of local and international events that are related to cultural diversity, ethnicity and tolerance. Since the age range of our group and its target audience is the same, we understand the problems of young people and the factors that cause these problems, and we work for a better Europe. We attach importance to the diversity of ideas and aim to differentiate these ideas further and spread the opinion that every idea is equal and valuable. At the same time, we encourage young people to use up-to-date technology in the most accurate ways in the developing and developing world conditions, in local and international environments. We strive to look for similarities and differences between us. Being aware that different cultures have different ways of learning and teaching, we investigate and attach importance to different formal and non-formal ways of education.

Our activities include meetings, seminars, webinars and working groups related to art, science, culture education and sports. We are organizing participatory workshops based on non-formal learning, experiential do it yourself studios, basic coding webinars, smart and sustainable cities forums, cultural nights. In addition, we use creative methodologies as instruments for social communication to ensure efficient communication. We carry out unique creative workshops (film production and video editing, DIY workshops, theatre, role playing, theatre ...)

We believe that all the methods we use not only ensure the development of young people, but also positively affect cultural diversity and their perspectives on different ideas, beliefs, thoughts, languages, race and gender.

The executive staff who help the activities in practice is well trained in different topics such as: leadership empowerment, environmental solutions, city life and society, personal development, human rights education, non- formal education skills and technological skill development.
