İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Denizcilik Teknolojileri Kulübü

DenTek is a student-led youth group operating within the Maritime Faculty of Istanbul Technical University. We bring together young people interested in maritime technology, marine environmental protection, sustainability, digital learning, cultural heritage and youth participation.

Our activities are designed and implemented with the active involvement of young people. Members take responsibility for identifying needs, developing project ideas, organising events, communicating with stakeholders, producing digital content and evaluating results. We use non-formal learning methods, peer learning and practical activities to help young people turn technical knowledge into social and environmental action.

Our experience includes European Solidarity Corps projects focusing on ballast and bilge pollution in the Sea of Marmara and the maritime memory of Istanbul. We have organised conferences, workshops and student meetings at universities and vocational high schools. We also successfully restored a lifeboat from the historic passenger ship M/V Akdeniz and work on maritime education and digitalisation projects, including a yacht simulator initiative.

DenTek has maintained a sustainable student-led structure since 2022 by transferring knowledge and responsibilities from graduating members to new students. We have experience in managing national projects and multi-stakeholder activities, and we are now seeking to expand our work through international youth cooperation.

We are interested in Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges and partnerships related to coastal cities, environmental sustainability, maritime culture, digital youth work, active citizenship and non-formal education. We would like to build long-term cooperation with organisations that value youth participation, practical learning and meaningful local impact.
