The International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC - www.mglc-lj.si) is looking for a partner organization in order to give young volunteers the opportunity of taking part in our programme as a museum.
Volunteers from your organization can contribute to our institution to reach more easily young international target audiences and understand the young audiences' expectations better, which consequently contributes to the development of new programmes accessible to a wider audience. Volunteers being "fresh" and "different" bring new ideas, initiative, and relaxed atmosphere into the team; they also strengthen dialogue, understanding and collaboration.
We would like to contribute to the development of the personal competences of young volunteers – such as communication skills, the ability of presenting and making true their ideas – as well as improve their self-image, gain self-confidence, and improve their knowledge.
At MGLC, we see opportunities for volunteers mostly in the following areas:
- the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts (one of the biggest cultural events in Slovenia, it presents a perfect learning environment for young people);
- printmaking studios (workshops and courses organised there, the studios provide numerous learning opportunities, through which it is possible to develop hand skills and various other abilities and become a wide source of inspiration);
- educational and public cultural activities (organization of public events addressing current social topics and expanding the content of exhibitions through workshops, creating an opportunity for working closely together with various groups and organizations from the local environment – such as kindergartens, schools, youth organizations, other museums and cultural institutions Third Age University and organizations dedicated to social inclusion).
