Institute for Roma and Minority strives for a society where the targeted young people enjoy equal access to opportunities regardless of their ethnicity, have a voice in their community and society, whose needs are tackled by the institutions that have a direct impact in their daily lives.
The mission is to empower minority and Roma young people for the challenges they face supporting them with various formal and non
formal activities, internships and volunteering in Germany and abroad, taking part in mobility programs, VET, entrepreneurship, market oriented and digital skills.
The Institute tends towards:
- A transition within the Roma and other minority community is needed. This can be brought by
promoting transition in the LEADERSHIP within the community.
-It is time for breaking a hundred years old STEREOTYPES that begin with fictions and stories
- more than 80% of Roma in Europe are unemployed. ECONOMIC Inclusion of young Roma merely depends on young Roma participation to VET opportunities, adult education, entrepreneurship, building capacities related to the missing skills on the labor market.
- Recently very loud, but in the past years and also present in the pages of the history – the
Roma and Sinti HOLOCAUST have taken unbelieving high attention by many governments and intergovernmental organizations
We are achieving our objectives by developing policies and research, organising studies, debates, seminars, meetings, publications, information, campaigns, advocacy actions and other educational events.
Our projects are financed by Erasmus+ ( KA1 - training, exchanges, EVS; and KA 2 - VET, adult education, youth; Europe for citizens, COE, National Ministries and local authorities.
