IL CASSETTO DEI SOGNI ASD-ETS

"Il Cassetto dei Sogni" is a non-profit association which promotes social activities and amateur sport associations in Modena, Italy. The social activities focus on respecting the freedom and dignity of the participants allowing them to develop a personality by implementing the principles of freedom, equality, equal social dignity and equal opportunities.

CDS team cooperates to enrich the following goals:
- Improve the skills and competences of both youth workers and young people, in particular through sport and the use of non-formal and informal learning experiences;
- Promote physical activities and show the added value of health;
- Provide people with health problems (cancer patients, people with neurodegenerative diseases, people who have suffered accidents and need to recover) the necessary stimuli to get back into the game, to find a new physical and emotional balance through outdoor activities
- To enhance the importance of different values as importance for maintaining pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality;
- Strengthen self-esteem and the ability to see and recognize one's talents
- Promote social inclusion and help young people with fewer opportunities (especially disabled, people with socio-economic difficulties) to integrate into society;
- Improve communication and emotion management skills in order to limit the onset of conflicts within everyday environments (home, school, work)
- To empower young people to find their own way in life.

These goals can be pursued through our direct organization or in collaboration with other non-profit institutions and public administrations.

We organize:
1. cultural activities such as seminars, round tables, exhibitions, conferences, trade fairs, extra-curricular training courses in languages, painting, sculpture, photography, cinema, singing, theater, and design;
2. recreational activities and social tourism initiatives, including the management of holiday centers, holiday homes, hotels, restaurants, campsites, shelters, tourist villages, hostels, student houses, reception centers, canteens, shops, bars, clubs and others structures in accordance with industry regulations. The aim is to organize unconventional training weeks for disadvantaged children, with socio-economic problems and for disabled children.
3. amateur sports activities, which includes training and teaching activities, in particular in the field of martial arts, self- defense courses, Nordic Walking and other outdoor activities

We use sport as a means to create communication channels with youngsters and to tackle together the problems that most concern them, offering alternative and innovative tools to confront and grow in a healthy and inclusive way. During the proposed activities and workshops, we addressed topics such as:

- drugs and addictions (with significant results, but aware of the need to further specialize ourselves, confront ourselves with the methodologies of other organizations and be able to dedicate qualitative time to this phenomenon which, especially in young adults, increasingly affects the emotional and sexual life originating complexes vicious circles of interdependence);
- gambling addicts;
- escape from reality and the virtual world;
- cyberbullying;
- hate Speach;
- sextortion;
- disability
- acceptance and integration of the different (meaning both the integration of people with physical or cognitive disabilities, as well as with gender diversity);
- female empowerment and the need to create a culture of greater inclusion of women in all areas of daily life as well as in sports
- health recovery (physical and mental) through sport and outdoors activity
- natural disasters: how they develop, how to deal with them and what are the effects of human acrivity on our environment

In the last 2 years we also organize in middle and high school special lab using fotography and drones to raise awareness among young people in the use of new technologies to create skills in the jobs of tomorrow.
