HIPPOCAMPUS, Koper is the Institute for sustainable development of coastal and inshore area.
Above all it operates in the field of environment – with the activities for protection the nature and saving the nature heritage. The main work of the Institute is to raise the awareness of children and youngsters about the importance of the nature for humankind. With its activities the Institute develops the sense for nature of young people. It's connecting them with nature and showing them its beauties and ways of close coexistence with it. The Institute empowers the young people for a friendly way of living with nature and makes them to think about possible solutions for saving the nature and to do some steps. It also makes young people to connect with each other in the nature and in common activities for nature. We want them to live together with the nature in a friendly and respectful relationship.
The important part of the Institute’s work is also to take care for Adriatic sea. So the Institute is connecting with other sea countries to make actions for saving the sea together.
