Higher Institute of Insurance and Finance (VUZF University) is the first private university specialized in research in the areas of innovation, finance, management and marketing in Bulgaria. VUZF University has an academic staff of approximately 100 professors and lecturers and nearly 60 research and administrative personnel. The university offers high quality education in bachelor, master and PhD degrees. The faculty members are among the most outstanding scholars with extensive training and practical experience, being current or former heads of state, local, and regional authorities, CEOs of companies, key management of regulatory authorities. VUZF University in Bulgaria has been one of the top performers of bringing the knowledge triangle (government, business, and academia) together. In fact, VUZF University has specialized in entrepreneurship and innovation in the past five years and organized over 40 top events that brought international scholars and lead businesses from Austria, Germany, Israel, Denmark, UK, and USA.
One of the main priorities in the development policy of VUZF University is to grant innovative and flexible forms of training methods. VUZF University offers wide range of training courses at the
Center for continuous and vocational training, which is part of its structure. The Center is certified by
the National agency for vocational education and training in Bulgaria. VUZF University is a member of several corporate and CSR associations as the American Chamber of Commerce, Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of the Bulgarian Business, UN Global compact, and others. These strong relationships with the business organizations allow a very high professional development of the VUZF students.
In 2017 VUZF University established a Laboratory for Applied Scientific Research (VUZF Lab). This long-awaited project unifies the efforts of the University to be in favour of the business through scientific cooperation and by preparing analysis and carrying out research, consultancy and project activities. The activities of the Lab are concentrated in six major program directions: Economics, Finance and Financial management, Business management and Marketing, Insurance and Social insurance, Information and communication technologies, International PhD and master’s programs and projects and International Cooperation. Their broad scope covers contemporary topics and issues of regional and global significance.
The Program Directors of the six departments are key experts, part of the scientific and expert staff of the University, and all of them are recognized through their successful business and academic careers and with their experience in management of national and international projects. VUZF Lab’s mission is to define and implement policies in the area of the applied scientific research at VUZF and to actively support the economic, social and political development of the country.
