Hakkari University is a public higher education institution located in eastern Türkiye, a region characterized by geographical and socio-economic challenges but also significant potential for youth empowerment and international cooperation. The university actively promotes internationalisation, inclusion, and equal access to opportunities for young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities.
The International Cooperation Office coordinates Erasmus+ activities at institutional level, including student and staff mobility programmes (KA131, KA171), youth projects, and European Solidarity Corps initiatives. The university has substantial experience in implementing Erasmus+ youth mobility projects (KA152, KA153) and holds Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation, demonstrating its long-term strategic commitment to youth development and international collaboration.
Hakkari University works closely with local stakeholders, youth organisations, and public authorities to strengthen youth participation, civic engagement, and community development. Through its projects, the institution aims to empower young people aged 18–30, enhance their leadership skills, promote intercultural dialogue, and support their active involvement in society.
