Getaway Girls enables young women to build confidence, develop new skills and take positive risks in an environment which offers co-operation and support.
We support approximately 400 young women per year aged 11-25.
We offer a variety of programmes to meet needs including individual support, structured group work, peer education, residential work and adventure education.
Our work includes the following:
*Young mums group for mums under 19 years old
*Fusion Support for refugees and asylum seekers
*Cultural Identity and Diversity programme
*Parenting group for young mums
*Positive ID project - Urban Art
* Schools work eg Year 6 Girls Talk
*Support work in children’s homes
*Peer Education and Volunteers training and support
*Residentials focusing on Outdoor Pursuits, team building, Positive Thinking or training courses
*Introduction to Youth work training/ Leadership training
*Group for 16-19 year olds re mental health and emotional wellbeing
*Volunteer training and Development
* Intergenerational work
We enable young women to take the first steps to becoming youth workers by becoming peer educators and volunteers who set up projects in their communities. These young Youth Workers are also offered training and support including Introduction to Youth Work Qualification and Young leaders Programme.
Our work continues to be a balance of support, challenge and fun- supporting young women to turn their lives around.

An exchange visit where both groups will visit each other and learn about cultures participate in sports, outdoor education, arts and cultural activities
