Georgian Blind Union

The Union Blind of Georgia was established in 1998, as a non-profit organization. It is the legal successor of the Blind Society, which was founded in 1926. We have more than 3000 visually impaired members in 15 regional branches of the organization. Union aims to expose blind citizens and help in their possible employment, medical, intellectual, social and psychological rehabilitation.

NGO organizes activities in the following directions:
Work on social assistance programs and projects for blind people, support in educational and Braille literacy, hold qualified trainings for Blind people and support their employment. Organize their health treatment and recreational events, help to improve blind’s living and housing conditions, if necessary make a donation as material support. Organize and fund cultural and sports events, helping them to employ in regional factories. Help and support blind people to promote the protection of rights and freedom, develop their talent and skills to better integrate into society. Manage to cooperate with central and local government, along with donor organizations.
